About Louise
I received a B.S. in Biology from Lehigh University in 1980, with a minor in Science Writing. In the early 80's I was privileged to work for Robert Rodale in a number of ventures, including the the Regenerative Agriculture Association.
In the 90's, I became a Penn State Master Gardener and worked for a local conservation organization where I was introduced to the importance of native plants while volunteer coordinator for their native plant sale.
I've been helping people incorporate native plants into their landscapes for more years than I'd like to say, and am a PLNA (Pennsylvania Landscape and Nursery Association) Certified Horticulturist.
In 2003 I founded Edge of the Woods Native Plant Nursery, LLC located in Orefield, PA along with my business partner, Sue Tantsits. www.edgeofthewoodsnursery.com
My greatest joy comes from watching birds and insects take their place within the landscape created by native plant communities.
