ReplyGood luck, of course the fact that this isn't a small little town anymore and that the township has welcomed 10's of thousands of trucks and cars from outside the township to come here every day and the fact that these drivers are completely unaware that the children will be roaming our roads for what in their minds is no reason whatsoever doesn't result in any of them being injured or killed. But do make sure that it is convenient for the parents.

ReplyI agree with Ann, I grew up in a sane state, where townships did not feel they had the power to change the calendar and celebrated national holidays with the rest of the nation.

On the article Progress Reported On Fogelsville Dam
Just Sick and Tired
1:57 pm on Tuesday, September 11, 2012
ReplyIt seems that the township is more concerned with getting off the list and saving money than the reality of having a dangerous dam. You only have to have a short memory to remember New Orleans, where the Mayor "saved money" and diverted funds earmarked for repairing dams and levies to "other programs". The township has known about this problem for years, and has done nothing about it, it has used millions to buy the Shellhamer property and several other frivolous projects but hasn't fixed the dam. At some point we have to get our priorities straight, life safety being first, not golf or whatever rezoning Jaindl wants. It's time to take care of who is here and to stop worrying about kissing the arse of every developer or future resident.

ReplySo according to a "welding student", community colleges offer the same educational opportunities as Yale, Harvard, Cornell, and Columbia universities. Perhap analytical skills like that are why he is a welding student.

Reply"Businesses, not taxpayers, will still have the responsibility to pay off the debt, though at a lower rate than before." is bull. Any cost to a business including the cost of higher unemployment rates will be passed along to the consumer. The consumer is ultimately pays all taxes.

ReplySo the banks ruin the economy and cause massive unemployment, get bailed out by taxpayer money, then the banks "lend" is money to cover the unemployment payments that they caused in the first place. It must be wonderful to be a bank, it really sucks being a taxpayer.

Just Sick and Tired

ReplyIt really doesn't matter, there is only a hand full of people with any representation in the County and for that matter in Harrisburg. Jaindl and the other major developers pull the strings, and the County, Local and Harrisburg government jump. The rest of us are just here to pick up the tab.

I dont care anymore, the township's charm is long gone. Replaced by warehouses and truck traffic. The people that protested were just ridiculed. The bypass project that was to save the area was hijacked by developers and made into an expressway complete with entrances and exits exactly where they owned land for future warehouses. The worst part is the township officials are proud of the nightmare they have created. They like the congestion, they think traffic is great. They are proud of the sex offenders that work here, they call it progress. ( check out the sex offenders registry to fact check )
