Sorry but my opinion of the police chief being mean has nothing to do with him enforcing laws. It has to do with approaching him to ask a question and him being rude. So rude should have been my adjective. And i was told that he was related to a person who was once on the council at the time of this vote about his residence. If I was wrong about that well then I was misinformed.

Well, Mayor Hoffman took the time that no one else was willing to take. Macungie's problems go well beyond the Mayor. The Zoning Officer is mean, vindictive and unable to correctly interpret the zoning ordinances. When he loses he slams chairs into tables. Not an appropriate way to act for a professional. He causes much grief to the borough residents. And look at what happened when one of our own business owners painted a beautiful mural on his building. A building that he restored when no one else wanted it. The expense incurred because of our borough manager, etc. The police chief is a mean person. And why would the borough council change the residency requirements to please him? Unfair to others that may have applied for the job and couldn't move. Who is/was the chief related to on the boro council? Yes, on the surface Macungie looks like a nice place to live but just below the surface it isn't nice much of the time. Sad really that people with titles abuse their power.

And this is one of the reason why I have no interest in starting to date (I am a widower). Too much drama, too much effort.

I had a thought..would the district consider outsourcing teachers...how about instead of language teachers we introduce elementary students to Rosetta Stone to learn languages. How about outsourcing the superintendent position? Then why the "Lunch Ladies" ????

Whoa. I am not against public schools at all. If took the time to actually read my comment, I said that ps need an overhaul. And I want to add our society as well. it is sad that many schools must bear the burden of being "mother" and "father " to many students who come from households where "mother" and "father" are non-existent. That is another subject. However, the role of the school should be to teach the academics from Math to Music. Our methods need to reevaluated. Many inner cities are starting. They have made schools within schools. Smaller schools with more attention paid to the student, etc. It will take time.

And so we have the VOTE and the right to vote. When his time comes around and if Mr. Stoltz chooses to run, we have the right to vote against him. If he is on another ballot, mayor, borough council, we have the right to vote against him. The beauty and treasure of the USA. and thank goodness, as well, for our Constitution.

Julian Stoltz is a product of the public schools. At least as far as high school as he graduated from EHS. He has a 1st Amendment right to speak & have an opinion. Maybe his opinion isn't so bad. Maybe it is his opinion that will strive to make public schools better. You have to remember that here in EPSD the students & teachers have it pretty good. But inner city ps, not so much. Many ps are failing & so are our students. There needs to be an overhaul in the running & teaching methods of these schools. So, is it so wrong of Mr. Stoltz to agree that ps are not doing a very good job. Kinncannon used harsh language, however, Mr. Stoltz did not. He agreed with a principle. And for that, he may not be so wrong.

And in typical East Penn fashion, this was never thought of prior to opening the school. This would be the fault of the superintendent? Why were you busing those children in the first place? Why wasn't the safety considered prior to opening the school? And you gave him a salary increase and contract extension.
