"We're hoping to get construction begun by fall, but it could start as early as summer," said Christopher Falnecki, president of Weiser Engineering Consultants of Wernersville. Weis Markets announced Friday a 90-day price freeze on more than 2,000 products. It is the company's 10th round of price freezes, according to a release. The discounted products include name brand and private brand products in grocery, frozen, dairy, meat, health, beauty care and general merchandise, according to the release. Customers can identify the items through store signage and shelf tags and in weekly circulars. A new Weis Markets superstore opened in Upper Macungie in December.

The store opened at 6 a.m. which is when neighbor Tyler Kuhns, 13, dropped in to see what was going on and to enjoy some cappuccino and a muffin. His mom Vickie, and sister Kaitlyn, 12, waited until the official grand opening and ribbon-cutting at 9 a.m. to join him. "We live right next door," Vickie said, "so we're very happy about out new neighbor." At jesska, some of the prices in this store are actually CHEAPER!! than other local weis stores due to location. i frequently shop here. i find myself in aisles by myself, cashiers are always available and its a much more enjoyable shopping experience. I was by Weis mgmt that they wanted to build a gas station but township wouldn't let them because there were already too many gas stations in the area. I think that's really silly considering there are NONE on the Northern side of 78.   more ›
