Weis Superstore Opens in Fogelsville

Shoppers packed the store to welcome a new neighbor and to take advantage of bargains.

Neighbors, well-wishers and bargain hunters flocked to the new Weis Market in Fogelsville on Sunday to see what all the hubbub was about. And they were well rewarded. The store opened at 6 a.m. which is when neighbor Tyler Kuhns, 13, dropped in to see what was going on and to enjoy some cappuccino and a muffin. His mom Vickie, and sister Kaitlyn, 12, waited until the official grand opening and ribbon-cutting at 9 a.m. to join him. "We live right next door," Vickie said, "so we're very happy about out new neighbor." The store was fairly crowded at 9:03 a.m. when Patch met up with Customer Service Manager Paul Berkle who has worked for Sunbury, Northumberland County-based Weis for two years in Kutztown, Hamburg, Reading and Pottstown. At jesska, some of the prices in this store are actually CHEAPER!! than other local weis stores due to location. i frequently shop here. i find myself in aisles by myself, cashiers are always available and its a much more enjoyable shopping experience. I drive 10-15 min out of my way in order to go to this weis vs going to macungie   more ›

New Weis Markets Readies for Sunday Opening

The new Weis Markets superstore will open at 6 a.m. on Sunday, and 250 customers will randomly be awarded a free bag of groceries throughout the day.

Crews caulked windows, stocked shelves and decorated as they worked to ready the new Weis Markets superstore in Fogelsville for its Sunday opening. The store at 7801 Glenlivet Drive will open its doors at 6 a.m., with a ribbon cutting at 9 a.m. As part of the festivities, 250 customers will randomly win a free bag of groceries, valued at $30 to $40, throughout the day. Some 200 people were busy on Thursday afternoon getting the store ready. Employees stocked beer, produce, cheese and groceries. Meats and bakery items won't be stocked until Saturday and Sunday morning, to assure freshness, store managers said. I was by Weis mgmt that they wanted to build a gas station but township wouldn't let them because there were already too many gas stations in the area. I think that's really silly considering there are NONE on the Northern side of 78.   more ›
