In observance of Veterans Day, here is what's open and closed Monday, Nov. 12. Upper Macungie Township municipal offices are closed. Parkland School District and St. Joseph the Worker schools are open. Parkland Community Library is open. Lehigh County Courthouse is closed. Lehigh County Government offices are closed. District Judge Michael Faulkner's office in Upper Macungie is closed. State offices are closed. Pennsylvania Department of Transportation driver's license and photo centers are closed. Here's a rundown of Veterans Day 2012 facts from the U.S. Census Bureau: Veterans Day originated as “Armistice Day” on Nov. 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I. Thank a veteran!
