Bad Bills Passed at Kuhnsville Mini-Mart, Police Say

Upper Macungie Police say a man wearing a New York Yankees cap bought items Tuesday at the Kuhnsville Mini-Mart with fake money.

Upper Macungie Police are searching for a man who made a purchase Tuesday at the Kuhnsville Mini-Mart, located at 5743 Tilghman Street, using bad bills. Police said they are looking for a black man, approximately 5'-8" and 180 pounds, wearing a gray shirt, jeans and a New York Yankees cap. Police ask that anyone with information on this crime contact them at 484-661-5911.

Drunk Teen Set Fire at Lone Lane Park, Police Say

Upper Macungie Police say a 16-year old was charged with setting a May 18 fire at Lone Lane Park in addition to other offenses.

A 16-year-old was charged with setting a May 18 fire in the woods adjacent to  Lone Lane Park in addition to a slew of other offenses, according to Upper Macungie Police. The fire was reported at 2:18 a.m. on May 18, police said. Police said the 16-year-old was charged with dangerous burning, disorderly conduct, public drunkeness, underage drinking and criminal mischief.

4 Thefts from Vehicles Tuesday, Police Say

Upper Macungie Police say they were dispatched to four separate incidents of thefts from vehicles Tuesday, where the cars were likely unlocked.

Upper Macungie Police say they were dispatched to four separate incidents of thefts from vehicles and vehicles being ransacked. The locations were: Police say in some of these cases, items such as change and a GPS unit were removed. In all of these cases, no signs of forced entry were observed, suggesting that the vehicles were unlocked. Police ask residents to remove valuables from cars and keep them locked when not in use, especially during the overnight hours. I wonder how long this will continue to go on (years) before people realize they need to be vigilant. Seriously folks, the criminals are laughing at our community. Of course, they are going to keep coming back because we as residents are doing NOTHING to protect ourselves. I go on walks and see how many people leave things in the car, doors open. Driver Cited in 2-Car Crash, Police Say

Upper Macungie Police cited 30-year-old Marc Wells of Emmaus for failure to yield following a two-car accident on Tuesday morning.

A 30-year-old Emmaus man was cited for failure to yield following a two-car accident Tuesday morning at the intersection of Route 100 and Schaefer Run Road, according to Upper Macungie Police. Police said Marc Wells, 30, of Emmaus was traveling north on Route 100 in a 2008 Dodge Ram, when he made a left turn and collided with a 2002 Chrysler Sebring driven by Clarence Burkhard, 66, of Macungie. Police said no injuries were reported.

These types of things will be misconstrued by younger people afraid to call 911 in fear that they will be reprimanded if it turns out the services were not needed. 100 Gallons of Diesel Fuel Siphoned from Trucks, Police Say

Upper Macungie Police say the owners of Andalusia Wholesale Supply, at 7566 Morris Court in Allentown, reported that diesel fuel was siphoned from the tanks of its trucks.

Upper Macungie Police say the owners of Andalusia Wholesale Supply, located at 7566 Morris Court in Allentown, reported that approximately 100 gallons of diesel fuel was siphoned from the tanks of its trucks. Police say the siphoning, which was reported Monday, occurred over the last week. Andalusia Business Supply is in the remodeling and building material industry, according to its website. Wanted: SUV Driver in Hit-and-Run Crash

Upper Macungie Police seek the driver of a large, black SUV that left the scene of an auto accident at Chapmans Road and Hickory Lane on Sunday morning.

Upper Macungie Police are seeking a driver who left the scene of an accident Sunday morning at the intersection of Chapmans Road and Hickory Lane. Police said the vehicle, thought to be a large, black SUV, failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Hickory Lane and Chapmans Road and went through the intersection at high speed. Police said the vehicle crossed over into the northbound lane of Chapmans Road, struck another car, and drove away. The driver of the car that was struck tried to follow the SUV, but lost sight of it in the vicinity of Tilghman Street and Route 22, police said. Police said a red car, possibly a Ford Focus, also joined in the chase, but lost sight of the offending driver. Police have not heard from this …

1 Taken to Hospital After 2-Car Crash, Police Say

Upper Macungie Police said the accident took place Friday at 3 p.m. at the intersection of Hamilton Blvd and Lower Macungie Road.

Upper Macungie Police said a woman was taken to the hospital for evaluation following a two-car accident Friday at the intersection of Hamilton Blvd and Lower Macungie Road. Police said a 1999 Jeep SUV, driven by Bernard Pollock, collided with a 2011 Ford Explorer driven by Melanie Poitevin, at approximately 3 p.m. Friday. Police said Poitevin was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation. Police said Pollock was not injured.

2 Cars Sustain Significant Damage in Crash, Police Say

Upper Macungie Police say a two-car crash at the intersection of Mill Road and Ambassador Drive on Friday morning caused significant damage to both vehicles.

Upper Macungie Police said significant front-end damage was sustained by two vehicles in a Friday morning crash at the intersection of Mill Road and Ambassador Drive. Police said the crash happened at approximately 10:30 a.m. Friday, when a 2003 Saturn sedan driven by Michael Kincaid of Lehighton collided with a 2005 Jeep SUV, driven by James Burke of Orefield. Both vehicles were towed from the intersection, police said. Police reported no injuries.
