Upper Macungie Supervisors give preliminary approval to a plan for building stores at the Fogelsville Weis shopping center. A state audit report said paying former Parkland Superintendent Louise Donohue for unused sabbatical leave was 'a questionable use of taxpayer funds.' Parkland said it had been offered to attract and retain the most qualified candidate. Upper Macungie Police Chief Edgardo Colon tells supervisors he's seen no major patterns of crime across the township. Upper Macungie Supervisors give permission for a proposed conceptual traffic study by Liberty Property Trust to continue. Who Put Rocks in Car's Gas Tank?

Upper Macungie Police say someone placed mulch, blacktop and rocks into the gasoline tank of a vehicle in the 1600 block of Travers Road.

Upper Macungie Police said they are investigating a criminal mischief case in which someone placed mulch, blacktop and rocks into the gasoline tank of a vehicle in the 1600 block of Travers Road. Police say the incident happened sometime between April 16 and Tuesday. Police ask that anyone with information on the incident contact them at 484-661-5911.

A big part of Upper Macungie Patch is our events calendar. We add upcoming events as we hear about them, but we don't know about everything going on in the community. We need your help. If your church is having its annual picnic, let us know. If your son's soccer team is holding a fundraiser to raise money for new uniforms, tell us where to go to help. There's room for bake sales, yard sales, school events, concerts, lectures, government meetings, fairs and more in our calendar. Follow these steps to learn how to add your event, and help us fill our calendar. Now the whole Patch community will know about your event, and it might even be featured in our 5 Things article or in our Weekend Planner roundup.
