Fatal Trick-or-Treat Night Accident Probe Wrapping Up

Fourteen-year-old Jordan Steinmetz was hit by an SUV and killed as he walked along Schantz Road in Upper Macungie on Oct. 26, 2012. He had been trick-or-treating.

  Upper Macungie Township Police said Friday the investigation of a fatal pedestrian accident on Oct. 26, 2012 on Schantz Road is ongoing but close to being completed. Jordan Steinmetz, 14, of Lisa Court, Upper Macungie, was hit by an SUV as he walked along a residential portion of Schantz Road, and killed. He had been trick-or-treating with a friend, and he had been in costume. Sgt. Corey Reeder of Upper Macungie Towship Police, who took over the investigation from the defunct Berks-Lehigh Regional Police, declined to name the driver of the SUV.
