Joan Jett and The Blackhearts will be the featured attraction of the 26th annual Ride for Life Muscular Dystrophy Association benefit, Saturday and Sunday at SteelStacks. But you don’t need to be a motorcycle rider or participate in the event to see the show at the Levitt Pavilion. For the first time, MDA is offering a limited number of general admission tickets for $70 for the concert starring a woman who some call the “Queen of Rock n’ Roll.” Tickets are available at the ArtsQuest Center box office and online at tix.artsquest.org. Rain or shine, all ticket sales are final. Proceeds will benefit local families served by MDA. Upper Macungie woman allegedly entered fake returns and pocketed $3,025, Bethlehem police say.

An Upper Macungie Township woman has been charged with stealing more than $3,000 from her employers at Bethlehem’s ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks, according to court papers. Tynesha Marie Gilmore, 20, of 5321 W. Tilghman St., allegedly entered fake returns and pocketed the cash from those fake returns, according to arrest papers filed by Det. Bradford Jones of the Bethlehem Police Department. It is unclear from the affidavit where in the ArtsQuest Center Gilmore worked, though based on the description of the thefts, the gift shop appears likely. In a verbal confession to police, Gilmore said that she stole because of family medical issues and to help pay debt, the arrest affidavit says. Gilmore said she began stealing in May and continued…

LCTI students are building a Mack Truck that will be part of an iconic concession stand at ArtsQuest's Levitt Pavilion in Bethlehem.
Salisbury High Sophomore Casey Moyer is looking forward to going to the new Mack Truck Stop concession stand at the SteelStacks in Bethlehem this summer and saying “I helped build that.” He has plenty of company. Moyer is one of 35 Lehigh Career & Technical Institute students who is rebuilding and refurbishing a Titan model Mack Truck that will be part of the concession stand at Levitt Pavilion at SteelStacks arts venue. The truck will be installed next to the Mack Truck Stop in June, giving it the appearance that it is pulling a trailer, said Kassie Hilgert, senior vice president of marketing and advancement for ArtsQuest, which opened the Levitt Pavilion last year. In its 28th year, the biggest festival in the Lehigh Valley has made a few changes.
Musikfest 2011 gets under way at 5 p.m. this evening in Historic Downtown and SouthSide Bethlehem. Independence Day celebrated with Allentown Symphony and fireworks.
The ArtsQuest campus was awash with people to celebrate the nation's birthday on July 4. The night included a rousing performane of classic tunes by the Allentown Symphony. Independence day went out with a bang as fireworks streamed through the sky over the SteelStacks.
