5 Slashed in Fights at Party, Police Say

State police at Fogelsville say they are looking for a thin-built black man with dreadlocks in connection with the slashing of five people, including a 19-year-old Wescosville woman.

Five people, including a 19-year-old Wescosville woman, were slashed or stabbed in fights that broke out early Saturday at a large party at 8996 Kings Highway in Lynn Township, state police at Fogelsville said. Police are looking for a suspect in connection with the slashings. He is described as a thin-built black man with dreadlocks, between the ages of 18 and 21. Police said several fights broke out during the party, and the five people were slashed or stabbed by an edged weapon. After everyone disbursed, a gunshot was fired in the area of the residence, police said. Police did not name the victims or say whether they were taken to hospitals.  They said, however, that those slashed or stabbed included a 17-year-old boy, a 26-year-old man…

1,101 Criminal Arrests by Fogelsville State Police in 2012

PSP says several hundred thousand dollars in U.S. currency, more than $1 million in drugs, contraband, weapons and stolen items were seized from criminals last year.

State Police at Fogelsville report setting single year records for DUI arrests, criminal arrests and incidents investigated in 2012, said Lt. Paul Gaspich, the station's commander. PSP's efforts on local highways resulted in several hundred thousand dollars in U.S. currency, more than $1 million in drugs, contraband, weapons and stolen items seized from criminals. State police at Fogelsville released the following 2012 statistics: "These statistics represent an emphasis on proactive enforcement and criminal investigation and indicate the Lehigh Valley is well served by the members of Pennsylvania State Police, Troop M, Fogelsville," Gaspich said in the release.

I-78 Open After Trash Truck Fire, Police Say

Police said the early morning fire occurred near Route 100 in Fogelsville and no injuries were reported.

State Police at Fogelsville said a trash truck fire slowed traffic on Interstate 78 in Fogelsville early this morning, but added that the highway is "wide open," now. State Police said no injuries were reported in the incident. A report on WFMZ.com said the tractor-trailer, which was hauling shredded paper, had two tires blow out, which caused the fire.

Underage Drinkers at House Party Cited, Police Say

The alleged underage drinking took place at the Weisenberg Township home of a Northwestern Lehigh School Board member, according to a report in The Morning Call.

Twelve people, including two from Fogelsville and three from Orefield, have been cited for underage drinking at a Feb. 3 party at a Weisenberg Township home, state police at Fogelsville said. The alleged underage drinking took place at 4542 Senny Court. The home is the residence of LeRoy Sorensen, vice-president of the Northwestern Lehigh School Board, according to a report by The Morning Call. State police said they cited Christopher Rice, 18, of Fogelsville; and Hunter Culp, 20, Christopher Ruch, 20, and Brett Austin, 18, all of Orefield, with underage drinking. A 16-year-old girl from Fogelsville was also cited, police said. Hit-Run Accident Knocks Out Power to 2,200 in Upper Macungie

A car struck a utility pole in Lowhill Township Tuesday evening, state police at Fogelsville said.

Updated 9 a.m. Jan. 23: A hit and run accident in Lowhill Township resulted in power being knocked out to homes and businesses in Upper Macungie. State police at Fogelsville said a white tractor trailer was travelling north on Route 100 at 5:39 p.m., and as it attempted to turn right onto Kernsville Road, struck a utility pole and continued on Kernsville Road without stopping. A pole on the southbound side of Route 100 also broke as the result of the pole struck by the vehicle, police said.  As of 8:40 p.m. on Tuesday, PPL Electric Utilities reported 2,211 customers without power in Upper Macungie. At 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, 804 customers in Upper Macungie remained without power. By Wednesday morning at 9, all but one customer had power …

Police: $6,000 in Credit Card Fraud Reported

The following information was supplied by state police at Fogelsville.

  A Fogelsville man reported to state police that someone racked up a total of $6,000 on three of his credit cards between May 2012 and January 2013. Jason K. Werkheiser, 42, of the 2100 block of Helgoland Drive, reported to state police on Jan. 11 that someone had been using his name and identity with the credit cards, according to a release. The credit cards had been maxed out, he said.

Update: Missing Lower Macungie Man Has Been Found

The following information was supplied by state police at Fogelsville.

  A 58-year-old Lower Macungie man who had been reported missing since Jan. 3 has been found, according to state police at Fogelsville. John Thomas Snyder, of the 4000 block of Indian Creek Road, was located on Saturday and he is fine, state police said. No additional information was provided. Earlier Saturday, state police in a release said Snyder had been last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue vest, gray-hooded sweatshirt, boots and a black-and-white knit scarf. He had been released from St. Luke's Hospital-Allentown at 10 a.m. on Jan. 3, state police said. Anyone with information was asked to call state police at 610-395-1438.

Police Recover Car Stolen in Upper Macungie

State police at Fogelsville say a car stolen Nov. 16 is recovered in a Lower Macungie neighborhood.

  A 2002 Mercury Sable stolen from outside the Sunset Grille in Upper Macungie has been found in a Lower Macungie neighborhood. State police at Fogelsville said the car, owned by Roberta Barga, was stolen between 2:30 a.m. and 2:45 a.m. Nov. 16. Barga's son, who had been working as a DJ at the restaurant, had gone out to the parking lot to warm the vehicle, and when he returned, the car was gone. The car was parked on Violet Circle in Lower Macungie around Thanksgiving, state police said, and was thought to have been a neighbor's until they were called on Dec. 23 and it was found to be the stolen vehicle.

State police report two racist incidents in Lower Macungie but have not said the crimes are related

  State police are investigating racist grafitti and a report of ethnic intimidation targeting a Jewish resident. More than 190,000 such hate incidents and crimes occur each year in the United States, according to a 2005 report. 11 Dead Puppies Found Near a Lower Macungie Park

The following information was supplied by state police at Fogelsville.

Update Nov. 27: The 11 small animals found dead and skinned near Lower Macungie's Quarry Park have now been tentatively identified as foxes because of their teeth. Further testing is needed to be sure.   Eleven puppies were found dead, some partially inside a plastic bag, off Quarry Road near a Lower Macungie Park. State police at Fogelsville said the puppies were found about 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, by someone reporting suspected animal abuse. Police said the dead puppies were on the side of the road, their fur removed. Quarry Park is located off Quarry Road. Yep! skinning baby foxes proves that you are a real man. Whether they were foxes or dogs or whatever, they were still innocent and didn't deserve what you "brave, manly hunters" did.
