1-4 Inches of Snow Possible Wednesday [Update]

The storm that's been talked about since Friday now looks like it will bring us a few inches of snow Wednesday.

First, the impending storm was called a potential "atmospheric bomb" that could dump one to feet of snow on eastern Pennsylvania. Now, the storm is having the most significant impact south and west of the Lehigh Valley The National Weather Service has adjusted its winter weather advisory for the Lehigh Valley including the Allentown area for 7 a.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday. (Advisory was originally scheduled through 3 a.m. Thursday) Highlights include: A Winter Weather Advisory means periods of snow may make travel difficult. Be prepared for slippery roads.

Major Snowstorm Could Hit Eastern Pa. Next Week

Forecasters are keeping a close eye on computer models that show a big snowstorm could be headed to eastern Pennsylvania around Dec. 19-20

Update 11 a.m. Thursday: WFMZ reports a storm is looking increasingly likely for Tuesday-Wednesday but the big question is whether it will be rain or snow. The National Weather Service predicts a chance of rain/snow on Tuesday night. Original Story: It could be much more than a White Christmas if the Lehigh Valley gets one to two feet of snow next week. The Eastern Pa. Weather Authority says a potentially "monstrous" storm is showing up on a European weather model, according to the following post on the group's Facebook page: Update on next week's storm potential.... this is as monstrous of a storm you can get just about, as modeled on today's 12z European model run. This would be, if correct, a "KU" storm... or one for the history books. …

Weekend Weather Predictions Call for 2-6 Inches of Snow, Sleet

New report put accumulation predictions higher than original prediction

It's time to get the snow boots out, folks.  According to Lehigh Valley Weather Patrol, the Lehigh Valley can expect between 2 and 6 inches of precipitation in the form of snow and sleet over the weekend. The snow is predicted to begin overnight tonight and continue through Saturday.  Weather Underground and Accuweather have similar predictions. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch, in effect until 7 p.m. Saturday.  If a storm develops, it will be the first winter weather of the season, not including the October snowstorm that left the valley blanketed in over 6 inches of snow.
