Macungie 'Bonnie & Clyde' Jailed After Carjackings, 100-mph Chase, Police Say

Shayna Sykes and Blake Bills called 'bold, reckless and absolutely brazen' after stealing two police cars and instigating a wild chase through Camden and Philadelphia that left a cop with a broken leg, authorities say.

LOWER MACUNGIE, PA -- A local couple called a 'junkie' version of Bonnie and Clyde by police has been jailed, slapped with a slew of charges from two car-jackings and 100-mph police chase through Camden and Philadelphia that left a cop with a broken leg, authorities say. Shayna Sykes, 24, and Blake Bills, 23, allegedly committed the "ultimate botched drug run," according to Philly.com, which reports Sykes knows the Philadelphia area from working one summer at a popular bar in the Northern Liberties section. The couple has a 7-month-old child, pictued on Sykes' Facebook page. The saga began last Friday when Sykes borrowed a black Mazda Protege from her grandmother, Sharon, in Macungie, police said. FBI, Philly Police Investigating Gov. Corbett's Son-in-Law

Multiple sources say Philadelphia narcotics officer Gerald Gibson has been put on administrative leave.

Last updated 6:20 p.m. Multiple news outlets are reporting that the son-in-law of Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett is under investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Philadelphia Police. Sources tell NBC10 that Gerald Gibson, a narcotics officer, has been placed on administrative leave. Police reportedly issued a brief statement about an officer being removed from his duties after a joint investigation by the FBI and Internal Affairs. The officer was not reportedly identified and has not been arrested or charged with a crime. WPVI-TV (6 ABC) reported that Gibson was allegedly found in possession of marked money that was used during a police sting operation.
