$85,000 Embezzled by Non-Profit's Ex-Treasurer, DA Says

Gerald Spiegelman, 46, has been charged with stealing more than $85,000 from Lehigh Valley Kashrut Commission, where he was treasurer.

  The following press release was supplied by the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office: A former treasurer of the Lehigh Valley Kashrut Commission has been charged with theft and other offenses for writing checks from the Commission’s bank account to himself and family members for personal expenses. Gerald Spiegelman, 46, of 931 N. Berks St., Allentown, was charged on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, with theft by deception and receiving stolen property, felonies of the third degree, and forgery, which is graded as a felony. I agree 100% with Mr. Jay Burkos. It is impossible to get justice in this country when the media convicts you before your even tried. By putting peoples names in the paper it will always follow them even if they are exonerated. Now when you put their home address it puts their entire family ion danger. Extremely poor judgement on the media.   more ›
