Alleged Cigarette-Throwing Hotel Manager Case Dropped

A district judge dismisses a citation against a Best Western Hotel manager accused of throwing a cigarette in a guest's face over a room rate dispute.

A former Best Western hotel manager had a harasment citation formally dropped Thursday by District Judge Michael Faulkner after the alleged victim failed to file charges. Jessenia Mateo, 35, of Allentown was cited for harassment in March after Upper Macungie Police responded to a call about a disturbance at the Best Western Hotel at 5650 Tilghman St.  At the time, police said Mateo threw a cigarette at a female guest during an argument in the hotel lobby over room rates. Upper Macungie Police officer Matt Gardner told Faulkner that the woman was living at the hotel at the time and was "adamant about filing charges." However, Gardner told Faulkner that despite numerous attempts by phone and subpoena, the woman failed to respond. Faulkner …

Allentown Man Assaulted Girlfriend, Police Say

Upper Macungie Police say Joshua Carrasco of Allentown is in Lehigh County Prison on several charges after allegedly assaulting his 21-year-old girlfriend earlier this week.

An Allentown man is in Lehigh County Prison on charges he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend and sent threatening text messages to her brother, according to Upper Macungie Police. Police said 19-year-old Joshua Carrasco was being held on several charges after allegedly assaulting his 21-year-old girlfriend who lives in Upper Macungie on several occasions earlier this week. Police said Carrasco sent threatening text messages to the girlfriend's brother, also of Upper Macungie. Police said Carrasco is charged with simple assault, terroristic threats, harassment and harassment by communication. Carrasco was arraigned by District Judge Karen Devine and was being held in Lehigh County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Tree of Life Workers Fight, Police Say

Upper Macungie Police say two workers at the Tree of Life warehouse in Breinigsville got into a fight early Tuesday. Simple assault and harassment charges were pending against one of them.

Upper Macungie Police said two workers at the Tree of Life warehouse in Breinigsville got into a fight early Tuesday, and simple assault and harassment charges were pending against one of them. Police said a verbal argument turned physical about 1:07 a.m. between Nathaniel Smalls, 47, of Allentown and a 27-year-old man. Police said simple assault and harassment charges will be filed against Smalls.

Husband and Wife Charged After Fight, Police Say

Upper Macungie Police said a husband and wife each face a harassment charge following a fight Monday morning at 7451 Keebler Way.

An Allentown couple was charged with harassment following a Monday morning fight at Sharp Corporation, 7451 Keebler Way, Upper Macungie Police said. Police said they were dispatched to the address at 4:55 a.m., and when they arrived, Nigel Grant, 28, of Allentown, said he had been hit multiple times in the head with a cell phone by his wife, Kimani Grant, 32. Police said Kimani Grant told them her husband grabbed her wrist in an attempt to take the cell phone, which resulted in her hitting him. Police said each was charged with harassment.

Man Threatened to Stab 2 Women, Burn House, Police Say

Two Emmaus women were harassed by an Upper Macungie man who threatened to stab them in the head and burn down their house, police say.

Two Emmaus women were harassed by an Upper Macungie man who threatened to stab both of them in the head and burn down their home on S. 11th Street, according to court papers. Russell J. Gallagher, 41, was taken into custody by Emmaus Police about 11 p.m. Feb. 9, after one of the women reported that someone had been circling the block around their home and had used the spare key fob for her car to set off the car alarm. She also told police that he had been repeatedly calling her on the phone. Police issued Gallagher a harassment citation and brought him back to his home at 1063 Mosser Road, Breiningsville. He was told not to contact the woman or return to her neighborhood in Emmaus. Police report that soon after being dropped off at home, …
