FBI, Philly Police Investigating Gov. Corbett's Son-in-Law

Multiple sources say Philadelphia narcotics officer Gerald Gibson has been put on administrative leave.

Last updated 6:20 p.m. Multiple news outlets are reporting that the son-in-law of Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett is under investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Philadelphia Police. Sources tell NBC10 that Gerald Gibson, a narcotics officer, has been placed on administrative leave. Police reportedly issued a brief statement about an officer being removed from his duties after a joint investigation by the FBI and Internal Affairs. The officer was not reportedly identified and has not been arrested or charged with a crime. WPVI-TV (6 ABC) reported that Gibson was allegedly found in possession of marked money that was used during a police sting operation. Substance in Woman's Car at LVH Not Hazardous

A Berks County woman came to Lehigh Valley Hospital complaining of skin irritation and brought in a suspected hazardous substance for testing.

Editor's note: This report was updated at 1 p.m. Saturday to include the latest information from police. Salisbury Township Police confirmed Friday that a suspicious substance brought to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest by an emergency room patient yesterday was not hazardous. Salisbury Police Det. Kevin Kress said the FBI tested the substance, described as a white powder, but did not release information on what it was. Investigators said it was not the result of a terrorist attack, he said. A Berks County woman found the substance in her mailbox Thursday and accidentally rubbed some of it on her face, Kress said. First Commonwealth Robbed at Gunpoint

Berks-Lehigh Regional Police and FBI are investigating at bank robbery of the First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union in Fogelsville this afternoon.

Berks-Lehigh Regional Police report that there was an armed robbery of the First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union, 7627 Tilghman St, Fogelsville today at 2:31 p.m.  No injuries have been reported. Berks-Lehigh Regional Police and the FBI are investigating and will release further information as it becomes available.
