Police Warn Parents of Stranger Danger

Do your kids know what to do if a stranger approaches them?

Police urge parents to make sure kids know what to do if they are approached by a stranger. A Bethlehem boy did exactly the right thing in a case reported Tuesday night on West Broad Street. He said "no" and ran home when a suspicious man tried to lure him into a car. Police ask: Are you prepared?  Have you had these difficult talks with your children?  If not, please consider it.  Here are some tips on what to tell them. Tips for Keeping Kids Aware and Safe Parents are now encouraged to avoid using the term “stranger danger.” It tends to induce fear. Police ID Suspect in Child Luring Case

Berks-Lehigh Regional Police still seek the public's assistance in Upper Macungie case.

Berks-Lehigh Regional Police said Friday they, with the public's assistance, have identified a suspect in a possible child luring case in Upper Macungie Township. The incident occurred Wednesday at approximately 4 p.m. in the area of Warba Drive and Chapmans Road in Upper Macungie Township. Police say two girls were approached by a male and were asked to go with him. Police say the suspect is a white male approximately 30 years old, 5’ 7", with a heavy build and gray/brown hair wearing a black Steelers sweater with yellow striping. Police say this incident remains under investigation. Investigators are asking that anyone that may have observed the incident to contact the police department at 610-683-8740.

Police Seek Child Luring Suspect

Berks-Lehigh Police say the incident occurred Wednesday in the area of Warba Drive and Chapmans Road in Upper Macungie Township.

Berks-Lehigh Regional Police say they continue to investigate a possible child luring incident that occurred Wednesday at approximately 4:00 p.m. in the area of Warba Drive and Chapmans Road in Upper Macungie Township. Police say two girls were approached by a male and were asked to go with him. The male was described as: Police say the suspect is a white male approximately 30 years old, 5’ 7", with a heavy build and gray/brown hair wearing a black Steelers sweater with yellow striping.
