Penn Friends Held Vigil For Parkland Grad Ayra Singh

Ayra Singh, 20, a junior studying nursing at the University of Pennsylvania, died unexpectedly Feb. 8.

Friends and family held a vigil last week in tribute to Parkland High School graduate Ayra Singh, 20, of Allentown who died Feb. 8 in the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Singh, who was in her junior year of nursing at the University of Pennsylvania, died unexpectedly. Autopsy results are pending. According to a Facebook page, a candlelight procession that was part of the event -- called "A Celebration of the Life of Ayra Singh" -- began on College Green at the University of Pennsylvania campus and ended at Houston Hall.  More than 100 people attended, including family and friends, according to the Daily Pennsylvanian.  Those who attended comforted each other, but there also was laughter as they shared stories, the newspaper …

Obituary: Parkland Grad Ayra Singh, 20

Parkland grad and Penn Nursing student Ayra Singh died unexpectedly Feb. 8 in Philadelphia.

Arya Singh, 20, of Allentown, died unexpectedly on Friday, 2/8/13 in the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. Born in Allahabad, India, she was the daughter of Dr. Narendra and Sujata Singh. She was a Parkland High School graduate and was in her Junior Year at the University of Pennsylvania studying nursing. Arya had an infectious smile and was a constant source of joy and laughter in the lives of her family and friends. She will make heaven a happier place. Arya is survived by her mother, father, and older sister, Shweta. The viewing will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 20th, from 11 am to 1 pm in the Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, 135 W.
