Parkland Mourns John R. Ritter, 62, Devoted Teacher [Obituary]

John R. Ritter, 62, of Neffs died Tuesday.

John R. Ritter, 62, of Neffs died April 16, 2013 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, where he received the very best of care for complications related to a bone marrow transplant for cancer. John was born and raised as one of a family that settled in the Lehigh Valley in 1731. Clarence and Arline Ritter, his parents, eventually moved to Allentown’s West End where he attended Muhlenberg Elementary School and Raub Junior High and graduated from Allen High School in 1968.  He was proud of his Pennsylvania Dutch heritage, was a student of his family’s history and a believer in the values he was taught. Nancy L. Fogel, 76, died April 9, 2013.

Nancy L. Fogel, 76, of Alburtis, died Tuesday in Lehigh Valley Hospital after being stricken. She was the wife of Roger L. Fogel.  They were married 52 years in January. Born in Alburtis, she was a daughter of the late Walter P. Sr. and Idella L. (Diehl) Boyer. She worked at Allen Organ Company for 10 years before retiring. Previously she worked at Royal Manufacturing Co. She was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd U.C.C., Alburtis. Richard Hoffman, 61, Parkland Elementary Teacher [Obit]

Richard D. Hoffman, 61, of Allentown, a Parkland School District teacher, died Monday.

Richard D. Hoffman, 61, of Allentown, passed away on Monday, April 8, surrounded by his loving family. Richard was the husband of Roberta A. (Hyndshaw) Hoffman and they celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary this past June. Born in Northampton, Richard was a son of the late Sherwood and Rose (Fedok) Hoffman. Richard received his BA in Elementary Education from Kutztown University and his Masters from Lehigh University. He then taught in the Parkland School District for 37 years, most of that time in the Schnecksville Elementary School prior to retiring in 2010.   He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Salisbury Township. Robert B. Lindenmuth, 82, of Breinigsville, died Monday, April 1 at Mosser Nursing Home, Trexlertown.

Robert B. Lindenmuth, 82, of Breinigsville, died Monday, April 1, 2013 at Mosser Nursing Home, Trexlertown.  He was the husband of Martha P. (Wanfried) Lindenmuth, to whom he was married more than 57 years.  Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Clarence R. and Pearl (Tressler) Lindenmuth.  Before retiring in 1991, he worked for 43 years as a banker at various Allentown branches of the former Meridian Bank.  He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Trexlertown and was a former member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Allentown, where he served as past financial secretary. Kathleen M. Herring, 70, of Wescosville, passed away Friday at home with her family by her side. She was the wife of Guy A. Herring Sr. They celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on July 1, 2012. Robert E. Moyer III, 71, of Allentown, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013.  He was the husband of Marcia (Clauser) Moyer. They celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary last May. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Anna (Rabenold) and Robert E. Moyer, Jr. He was a partner in Throw and Grow Seed Company from 1965 until the mid-seventies, located in Trexlertown. Betty M. Marsteller, 84, of Trexlertown, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.  She was the wife of the late Paul H. Marsteller. Born in Breinigsville, she was the daughter of the late John B. and Edna L. George.  She along with her husband owned and operated Marsteller Grain and Farms, Inc for over 60 years, where she worked as the bookkeeper. She was a member of Zion’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Old Zionsville.
