I have been dealing with this company between Allentown and Stoudsburg, PA since they were Metal Weld/MG Industries/GT&S-WELCO (1994-present). This is the straw that breaks the camels back...on 9/7/11 (7 months ago) I picked up oxygen and acetylene. Oxygen was $15.29/btl and acetylene was $28.17/btl. Recently, 3/14/12, I picked up the same. The cost jumped to $43.58 for oxygen and $72.64 for acetylene. That's an increase of 185% for oxygen and157.5% for acetylene. On top of that they want $1.00 for paper billing. I called the Pittsburgh phone # from a recent invoice and they knocked the price down to $29.81 for oxygen and $62.92 for acetylene. Then I was told my account only goes back to 2011. I don't know how many welders out there that can absorb these kind of increases without any notice. I can't increase my rates like that and still be competative. This is no reflection on the guys working the counter. They've always gone out of their way to help.
