Your Weekend: Santa Runs, Shrek, Winter Concert
A look at what's happening this weekend in Upper Macungie.
Santa arrives in style in the Parkland area this weekend, as volunteer firefighters in Upper Macungie and South Whitehall escort him by firetruck (and car) into township neighborhoods.
Among the runs:
- Cetronia Fire Department in South Whitehall will begin at 10 a.m. Check here for times and neighborhoods.
- Greenawalds Fire Co. in South Whitehall will distribute gifts (pre-arranged) beginning at noon.
- Station 56 in Upper Macungie makes stops beginning at 9 a.m. For a list of times and neighborhoods, check here.
- Winter Concert. Parkland High School Band/9th and 10th Grade will hold a Chorus Winter Concert at 7 p.m. Thursday. A senior citizen dinner will precede the event in high school cafeteria at 5:30 p.m.
- "Shrek" Theatre Workshop. Parkland High School Performing Arts Club hosts its Children’s “Shrek” Theatre Workshop at 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Another session is Jan. 5. (the first session had been rescheduled from last week because of a winter storm.)
