'Race for Adam' and Generations Wine Tasting Top Upper Mac Weekend

The weekend's activities include a corn pies sale at Trexlertown Grange, the Camp Fowler Festif bike race and Sunday volleyball at Upper Macungie Park.

The weekend weather forecast, according to the National Weather Service, is expected to feature cloudy skies both Saturday and Sunday with high temperatures between 77 and 81 degrees. Not perfect weather, but it will likely be fair enough not to ruin any outdoor plans you have.

Here's what's going on this weekend in and around Upper Macungie Township:

  • The Ride for Adam picnic and motorcycle ride fundraiser will be held from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Schnecksville Fire Company. Registration begins at 10 a.m. Non-stop ride from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Picnic from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., followed by fireworks. $25 donation, free for children under 15. For more information, contact Carol Laub at 610-760-2832 or carol@opp-knock.com Volunteers are needed Friday afternoon, all day Saturday and Sunday morning. Donate three or more hours will receive a free ticket to the event. To volunteer contact Mandy Conti at  mlemon08@verizon.net. 
  • Generations Wine Tasting is featured all weekend at Clover Hill Winery, located at 9850 Newtown Road in Breinigsville. Generations is a reserve label of Clover Hill wines that are produced in limited quantities.  The new releases are: Riesling, N-Chard and Three.   • A homemade Corn Pie Sale takes place Friday at Trexlertown Grange starting at 4 p.m. at 1183 Grange Road, Wescosville. For ordering information, click here. 
  • The Camp Fowler Festif, a charity bike race, kicks off Saturday at 9 a.m. from Camp Fowler, 5851 Horseshoe Rd in Orefield. Entertainment includes a DJ and a mini-rodeo. For more information, click here. 
  • Volleyball players are still in luck, but time is running out! Summer volleyball Sundays run through the end of August at Upper Macungie Park on Route 100. Youth games run from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and adult games are played between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. 
  • The Terry Hill Water Park, located at 10000 Hamilton Boulevard in Breinigsville, is open from noon to 6 p.m. all weekend. The park offers fun for the whole family featuring rainbow slides, a Wild River, a Lazee River, a Tarzan rope and a diving board. The park also features a miniature golf course. Amenities include free use of picnic tables and lounge chairs as well as hot showers and parking. A refreshment stand sells ice cream, hot dogs, hamburgers, snow cones, sodas and iced tea.
  • The nearby Lehigh Valley Zoo in Schnecksville is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
  • Kids eat free on Sundays at the Buckeye Tavern, located at 3741 Brookside Road in Macungie.
  • There's plenty of entertainment at the Molten Lounge at Sands Bethlehem this weekend. On Friday, the Craig Thatcher Band plays at 9:30 p.m. On Saturday, it's Emily's Toybox at 9:30 p.m. On Sunday, Large Flowerheads entertain starting at 8 p.m.
