This Week: Find Jobs and Play Bingo or Volleyball

Indoor recreational volleyball, a Zumba class and an Upper Macungie Supervisors meeting highlight the week's events.

We turn the calendar page into October already as some of leaves in the Lehigh Valley are already beginning to, nights have been on the cool side and fall is taking hold.

Here's what you need to know this week in and around Upper Macungie Township.

  • Looking for a job? You can learn about jobs available in the local area by meeting with recruiters from Manpower temporary service of Allentown at the Parkland Community Library, located at 4422 Walbert Ave. in South Whitehall. Recruiters will be available from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Jaindl Elementary School in Upper Macungie Township will hold Picture Day on Tuesday. Smile!
  • The Orefield Middle School PTO will hold a meeting at the school Tuesday at 9 a.m.
  • Indoor recreational volleyball take place Tuesday at  Fogelsville Elementary School from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.  The program, sponsored by Upper Macungie Township, will run each Tuesday through March 25 with the exceptions of Dec. 10, Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.   • The Fogelsville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary will host bingo at the firehouse, located at 7850 Lime Street in Fogelsville, on Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the kitchen begins serving food at 5:45 p.m. For more information, call 610-395-5479.
  • St. Paul's UCC Church in Trexlertown, located at 1249 Trexlertown Road in Trexlertown, will  host a Zumba class Friday at 9:30 a.m.
  • Upper Macungie Supervisors will hold their monthly meeting Thursday at 7 p.m. at the township meeting room, located at 8330 Schantz Road in Breinigsville.
  • The Parkland High School football team travels to Nazareth for a Lehigh Valley Conference game Friday. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
  • Parkland High School winter sports physicals will be held Saturday morning at the high school.
