St. Paul’s to Launch Concert Series in Trexlertown

The inaugural concert at St. Paul's UCC in Trexlertown will take place Oct. 15 at the church.

A concert series at St. Paul’s UCC in Trexlertown will start Oct. 15 with a Trumpet and Organ Recital at 3 p.m.

John Thyhsen, a retired trumpet professor from Rowan University, will join Randall D. Perry, organist and Master of the Choristers at to play Bach, Handel, Martini, Albinoni, D'Aquin, Hovhanness, Campra and Perry.

Thyhsen's professional performances have included The Philadelphia Opera Company Orchestra, The Philadelphia Pops Orchestra, The Concerto Soloists Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, The Philadelphia Orchestra (sub), The Festive Brass Quintet, The Delaware Valley Brass Sextet and The Bach and Handel Festival Orchestra in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania.

Perry, founder, Conductor and Music Director of The Bach and Handel Chorale and Festival Orchestra of Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, began his career in sacred music at the age of eleven. Since that time, he has served as organist and Director of Music for eight parishes.

The concert is free, but a donation to support the musicians will be accepted.

The second concert of the series will be a Christmas Concert of The Bach and Handel Chorale from Jim Thorpe on Dec. 11 at 3 p.m.
