I can hardly believe the holidays are before us already. It’s time to move into mode of holiday shopping and if you are like me you probably scratch your head every year in hopes of finding those perfect gifts for everybody. We spend hours looking through magazines, sales flyers, and on line. Then of course there are always the malls, often many trips to many malls, fighting the crazy heavy traffic, then when you arrive lots of luck finding a parking space. Until you get into the mall your frustration level has elevated so high only to find the sizes you need are most likely sold out. Oh and lets not forget that when you eventually find a gift that you think is just perfect for somebody you get to spend another twenty minutes waiting in line to get to the cash register. Let’s not forget there’s always the fun of wrapping the gifts. Finally gift giving day arrives, you know you picked the perfect gift so you watch in eager anticipation of the recipient’s excitement as they tear open your gift; only to see a look of disappointment. Wow all that makes me want to just pull the covers over my head and sleep though it all.
During last years holiday season I ventured into a new realm of gift giving by becoming more supportive of our local businesses and the idea of “Buy Fresh Buy Local”. While I purchased a large variety of gifts, at many of our local businesses, the most appreciated gift I gave were bottles of Clover Hill wines. Clover Hill Vineyards & Winery has a large variety of wines and their experienced staff is always willing to take the time to find the right style of wine for everybody on your gift giving list; anyway everybody that is over 21 years of age. Clover Hill Vineyards & Winery has been producing premium wines for over 27 years, with many award winning wines. They have grown from their first years as a winery, producing just over 1,000 gallons of wine, to one of Pennsylvania’s largest wineries, producing over 75, 000 gallons of wine a year. As gifts were open throughout last years holiday season I never saw my gifts create so many smiles and positive conversation, which also put a smile on my face and warmed my heart.
This year I am going to take a slightly different approach to my gifts. Clover Hill Vineyards & Winery offers beautiful custom labels for their wine bottles. The label can be as simple as all black ink to as complex as a full color picture. And I pay the label fee only one time no matter how many bottles of wine I am having labeled. I can’t go wrong. You can learn more about their Customer Label Program at: http://www.cloverhillwinery.com/products_CS3.htm. I figure the custom label will make my gifts of wine a reflection of me as well as the winery, a bit more of a personal touch.
Toast: To A Holiday Filled with Family and Friends, Kindness, Love, Happiness and locally produced Wine!
