Clover Hill Vineyards & Winery - Award Winning Wines

Superb wines honored at the 2013 Pennsylvania Wine Competition include four standouts from Clover Hill Vineyards & Winery.

As spring begins to crack through winter’s shell we begin to watch our vines come back to life at Clover Hill Vineyards & Winery.  First the buds will swell, then we will see them pop open, shoots begin to grow and as the sun continues to warm leaves will develop and the flowers of the grapes, called inflorescent, will open and grapes then start their development.  Here at Clover Hill Vineyards and Winery we are wrapping up our pruning of the vines and ready to enjoy this beautiful time of year.  As is the case every year we are hoping for a beautiful hot and dry summer so we have the most supreme grapes to enable us to produce premium wines.

As we watch this glorious site in the vineyards we lift our glasses in a toast to some recent awards we were honored to receive.  At the 2013 Pennsylvania Wine Competition Clover Hill Vineyards & Winery was awarded a gold medal for Turtle Rock Red, gold for Niagara, silver for 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon, and bronze for Spiced Apple.  As you travel the Lehigh Valley or Berks County be sure to stop in at the winery in Breinigsville or any of our other three locations to sample these award winning wines.

Turtle Rock Red is an off dry wine made with 100% Chambourcin grapes.  Because of its slight sweetness Turtle Rock Red is best served slightly chilled. During the summer months Turtle Rock Red is wonderful to pair with tangy ribs right off the grill.  Niagara is a sweet wine that smells and tastes just like the grapes on the vine.  Every time I smell or taste Clover Hill Niagara it takes me back to when I was a little girl and would eat the grapes off the arbor at my grandparents home.  What a nice memory!  2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is a nice big bold dry red wine which pairs perfectly with a steak from the grill.  The Spiced Apple is like a liquid apple pie.  I enjoy the Spiced Apple cold as a dessert or on a cool summer night, as I sit around the campfire, I look forward to it slightly warmed.
We are very proud not only of these award winning wines but proud and honored that you the public have voted Clover Hill Vineyards & Winery to receive the 2013 Berks County People’s Choice Award, which is our fifth consecutive year and the 2013 Who’s Who in the Lehigh Valley, six years running.  So thank you to our loyal customers we are proud to serve you!  Cheers!
