Viewfinder: Parkland Falls To Easton in D-11 Baseball

Seventh-inning Red Rovers rally ends Trojans season.

The top-seeded Parkland High School baseball team held a 6-3 lead going into the seventh inning of Wednesday's District 11 quarterfinal, but couldn't hold off a rally by ninth-seeded Easton as the Red Rovers scored four times to eliminate Parkland 4A baseball tournament.

Parkland senior Dan Shaw pitched well and helped himself with a two-run home run, but couldn't record an out in the top of the seventh. Even so, he left the game with 6-3 lead, in favor of reliever Matt Nelson.

Nelson struggled and was lifted for junior Adam Frye. Neither Nelson or Frye could keep the runners they inherited from scoring and Easton plated four runs to take the lead.
