Parkland Ice Hockey Club Opens Playoffs Tonight

The Trojans take on Freedom in Game 1 in a best-of-three series for the Lehigh Valley Scholastic Hockey League title.

The Parkland Ice Hockey Club opens the Lehigh Valley Scholastic Ice Hockey League playoffs tonight (Feb. 27) when they take on Freedom at 6 p.m. at The Rink In The Lehigh Valley, located in Whitehall Township.

Parkland (17-4) is looking for a measure of revenge against a Freedom club that beat them during the regular season, said coach Frank Berry.

"No disrespect to Freedom, but we need to play our game and take care of what we can take care of," he said.

The best-of-three series opens tonight with game two set for Wednesday. If a third and deciding game is needed, it will be played next Monday, March 5, in deference to the state playoffs.

"We're hoping to clean this up in two, because we have the Flyers Cup (state playoffs) coming up and the kids are looking forward to the states," he said.
