Cache in the Parks, a Geocaching Event in UMT

Geocaching is a unique outdoor recreational activity, like a scavenger hunt.  Participants, regardless of their age and ability, can use latitude/longitude coordinates and a hand-held GPS unit or smart phone with GPS capabilities to locate hidden containers, called “caches”.  Caches typically contain a “treasure”. As part of our event, we will hide “caches” and give you the coordinates to help you with your search.  If you have a GPS unit, bring it along.  If you don’t, we will have units to loan out for the event.  For those not familiar with geocaching, a short presentation will be provided at 10:30 am.

Why should you attend?

The event is FREE.  No registration is required.  All participants will get a treasure and prizes will be available.
