Parkland OKs 12 Hires, 9 Resignations

The Parkland School Board, at its Tuesday night meeting, approved the following personnel moves:

Resignations:

William C. Bowen, principal at Schnecksville Elementary School, effective August 7, 2013.

Christopher D. Gorsky, paraprofessional at Parkland High School, effective August 20, 2013. 

Taryn Winterburn, DRP/Title I aide at Fogelsville Elementary School, effective July 17, 2013.

Matthew D. Williams, full-day school bus driver, effective July 26, 2013.

Ronald A. Leaser, part-time custodian at Springhouse Middle School is retiring after 20 years of service, effective June 27, 2013.

Kelly Ann Coffield, playground aide at Fred J. Jaindl Elementary School, effective August 2, 2013.

Paul L. Hagadus, powerlifting coach at Parkland High School, effective July 25, 2013.

Erin C. Mahmood, cross country coach at Orefield and Springhouse Middle Schools, effective July 31, 2013.

Christopher B. Wynne, varsity wrestling assistant coach at Parkland High School, effective August 7, 2013.

Hires:

Timothy S. Chappelear, Allentown, PA, as a first grade teacher at Ironton Elementary School, effective August 27, 2013, at an annual salary of $49,921.  Mr. Chappelear is recommended as a substitute for a temporary vacancy to replace Dawn Bray, who will be on a leave of absence. 
 
Lindsey A. Marsh, Breinigsville, PA, as a first grade teacher at Fred J. Jaindl Elementary School, effective August 27, 2013, at an annual salary of $49,921.  Ms. Marsh is recommended as a substitute for a temporary vacancy to replace Kimberly Stasko, who will be on a leave of absence.

Daniel R. Ryan, Allentown, PA, as a kindergarten teacher at Fred J. Jaindl and Fogelsville Elementary Schools, effective August 27, 2013, at an annual salary of $57,230.  Mr. Ryan is recommended as a substitute for a temporary vacancy to replace Madeline Smith, who had a change of status.

Allison A. Ball, as a second grade teacher at Fred J. Jaindl Elementary School, effective August 27, 2013, at an annual salary of $49,921.  Ms. Ball is recommended as a substitute for a temporary vacancy to replace Alexis Rausch, who had a change of status.

Patrick J. Sutton, Kempton, PA, as a math teacher at Parkland High School, effective August 27, 2013.  Mr. Sutton is recommended as a short-term substitute, under board policy #405, at the daily rate of $250.66, replacing Terri Plattner, who is on a childrearing leave of absence.

Lisa C. Hayducek, Coplay, PA, as a paraprofessional at Springhouse Middle School, effective August 27, 2013, at an annual salary of $26,326, replacing Lorilee Lyons, who resigned.

Denise M. Davis, Breinigsville, PA, as a playground aide at Fred J. Jaindl Elementary School, effective September 3, 2013, at an hourly rate of $14.02, to replace Kelly Ann Coffield, who resigned.

Jennifer L. Bower, Breinigsville, PA, as a playground aide at Fred J. Jaindl Elementary School, effective September 3, 2013, at an hourly rate of $14.02, to replace Jeannie Hain, who resigned.

Robert J. Jurchenko, Germansville, PA, as a full-day school bus driver, effective August 21, 2013, at the probationary daily rate of $90.95, replacing Paul Hudak, who retired.

Nora J. Walters, Slatington, PA, as a full-day school bus driver, effective August 21, 2013, at the probationary daily rate of $90.95, replacing Gretchen Price-Weaver, who was deleted from rolls.

Alexis L. Rausch, from substitute for a temporary vacancy fourth grade teacher to an elementary contracted position, effective August 27, 2013, at an annual salary of $49,921. Ms. Rausch  is recommended as a temporary professional employee.  This position was approved in the 2013-2014 budget.

Melissa Webber, from playground aide to part-time clerical assistant at Kratzer Elementary School, effective August 5, 2013, at an hourly rate of $15.34, to replace Elizabeth Kane, who resigned.

Stephanie Berger, from teaching assistant to DRP/Title I aide at Kratzer Elementary School, effective date to be determined, at an hourly rate of $16.50, to replace Carol Lasicki, who resigned.

Kerry S. Stefanyak, from garage mechanic helper to garage mechanic, effective August 7, 2013, at an annual salary of $56,865, prorated, to replace Richard Hanner, who resigned.

Valerie E. Hoffman, from substitute part-time custodian to part-time custodian at Parkland High School, effective August 26, 2013, at an hourly rate of $16.37, to replace Ronald Leaser, who retired.
