Parkland Offers Two Family-Oriented Events

Parents can learn about drug prevention, then how to get fit as a family.

Parents, take note.

Parkland School District is shrugging off its snow cancellations by rescheduling two family programs for tonight and Friday night.

Tonight at 7, parents can learn how to be vigilant about possible drug use by their children, especially as their children enter their teenage years.

"Kids and Drugs" will be presented at the  auditorium. A Lehigh County juvenile probation officer and a drug and alcohol interventionist will be on hand.

Then, on Friday night, the Jaindl Parent Teacher Organization will host a Family Fitness Night from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Jaindl Elementary School.

This is a way to get your family's New Year resolutions back on track.

 Various fitness stations will be set up in the gym for families to to work out together. Healthy snacks also will be available in the cafeteria to help provide parents with ideas for healthy after-school snacks.
