Steele is a former Parkland student and athlete, a star field hockey and softball player for Parkland High School in the ’93-’96 seasons, and was inducted into the Parkland High School Athletic Hall of Fame for her role in Parkland’s outfield during the 1995 PIAA state softball championship.  She went on to a successful softball college playing career at Kutztown University.

“Michelle always brings a sense of purpose and a great work ethic to whatever she does," said Parkland Athletic Director Jeffrey Geisel.  "She has been an integral part of each program in which she has participated as either a player or a coach.  She has a thorough understanding of what Parkland needs in order to be successful and has improved each program in which she has been involved.  We expect that she will do the same with our field hockey program both on and off the field.”
