Parkland Hires 27 Staff Members

The Parkland School District addresses its staffing needs prior to the new school year.

Lots of new faces will be in the Parkland School District when school opens Sept. 4, and the district said good-bye to some familiar ones:

Retirements/Resignations:

Laurie F. Eisenberg, information technology teacher at , will retire after 27 years in education, effective Jan. 5, 2013.

Sharon M. Chism, paraprofessional at , retired after 24 years in education, effective Aug. 21.

Renae L. Hamm, part-time food service employee at Parkland High School, has retired after 20 years of service, effective July 31.

Lyndsey I. McGrevy, teaching assistant at and Parkway Manor elementary schools, effective July 30.

Christopher J. Marx, part-time DRP paraprofessional at Springhouse Middle School, effective July 20.

Lisa M. Moyer, teaching assistant at Parkway Manor Elementary School, effective Aug. 6.

Brianna L. Foley, teaching assistant, effective Aug. 16.

Sylvia Fowler, health room aide at Fogelsville Elementary School, effective Aug. 14.

Jeanne M. Thielen, paraprofessional at Ironton Elementary School, effective Aug. 15.

Ronald K. Bower, part-time garage assistant, will retire after 13 years of service, effective Aug. 31.

Don Clemens, assistant boys lacrosse coach at , effective July 17.

Heather Tice, girls volleyball coach at Orefield and Springhouse middle schools, effective July 25.

Brooke Orlofske, freshman cheerleading coach at Parkland High School, effective July 25.

Katie Kline, assistant varsity cheerleading coach at Parkland High School, effective July 25.

Change of Status:

Tara L. Benvin, from a first-grade teacher at Fred J. Jaindl Elementary School, to a part-time kindergarten teacher at Parkway Manor Elementary School, effective Aug. 28.

Karyn E. Haines, from fourth-grade teacher substitute for a temporary vacancy at Parkway Manor Elementary School, to a third-grade teacher at Parkway Manor Elementary School, effective Aug. 28, at an annual salary of $55,980.

Jason M. Hamilton, from second-grade teacher substitute for a temporary vacancy at Cetronia Elementary School, to a fourth-grade teacher at Fogelsville Elementary School, effective Aug. 28, at an annual salary of $49,071.

Barbara A. Monarek, from part-time paraprofessional to full-time paraprofessional at Parkway Manor Elementary School, effective Aug. 28, at an annual salary of $26,326, to replace Sharon Chism, who retired.

Here are the hires:

Christine A. Rauch, Allentown, as a first-grade teacher at Parkway Manor Elementary School, effective Aug. 28, 2012, at an annual salary of $48,871.  

Julie C. Schultz, Allentown, as a first-grade teacher at Fred J. Jaindl Elementary School, effective Aug. 28, 2012, at an annual salary of $55,980. Schultz replaces Tara Benvin, who moved to another assignment.

Isidro Figueroa, Northampton, as a Spanish teacher at Parkland High School, effective Aug. 28, at an annual salary of $48,671. Figueroa replaces Erin Mahmood, who will be on a professional leave of absence.

Kate A. Robbins, Easton, as a math teacher at Parkland High School, effective Aug. 28, at an annual salary of $48,671, prorated.  Robbins replaces Sharon Gombotz, who is on a leave of absence.

Jeffrey W. Snyder, Allentown, as an information technology teacher at Springhouse Middle School, effective Aug. 28, at an annual salary of $55,980, prorated. Snyder is recommended as a substitute for a temporary vacancy to replace Laurie F. Eisenberg, who is on a leave of absence.

Leah Mourterot, Bethlehem, as a second-grade teacher at Cetronia Elementary School, effective Aug. 28, at an annual salary of $48,671, prorated.  Mourterot replaces Kelly Torbert, who will be on a childrearing leave of absence.

Jean Kiely Ostfeld, Allentown, as a fourth-grade teacher at Parkway Manor Elementary School, effective Aug. 28, at an annual salary of $55,980, prorated. Ostfeld replaces Janiel Spisak, who is on a childrearing leave of absence.

Rebecca Freed, Allentown, as a math teacher at Springhouse Middle School, effective Aug. 28. Freed is recommended as a short-term substitute, at the daily rate of $250.66, replacing Jennifer Karetsky, who is on a childrearing leave of absence.

Lisa Hayducek, Coplay, as a teaching assistant at Springhouse Middle School, effective Aug. 28, at an annual salary of $25,334, to replace Ryan Kleintop, who moved to another position.

Tara A. Farley, Bethlehem, as a teaching assistant at Fred J. Jaindl Elementary School, effective Aug. 28, 2012, at an annual salary of $25,334, to replace Stephanie Eddinger, who resigned.

Daniel J. Sleiman, Schnecksville, as a teaching assistant at Kernsville Elementary School, effective Aug. 28, at an annual salary of $25,334, to replace Timothy Chappelear, who resigned.

Robert R. Keller, Allentown, as a part-time paraprofessional at Parkland High School, effective Aug. 28, at an hourly rate of $18.47, to replace Warrene Boyer, who resigned.

Kaitlin Tomecek, Catasauqua, as a part-time paraprofessional at Parkland High School, effective Aug. 28, at an hourly rate of $18.47, to replace Katherine Leh, who resigned.

Heather K. Tice, Allentown, as a part-time paraprofessional at Parkway Manor Elementary School, effective Aug. 28, at an hourly rate of $18.47, to replace Madeline Smith, who resigned.

Rochelle A. Bauder, Belvidere, NJ, as a part-time paraprofessional at Parkway Manor Elementary School, effective Aug. 28, at an hourly rate of $18.47, to replace Barbara Monarek, who moved to another position.

Erin L. Orben, Wescosville, as a paraprofessional at the Troxell building, effective Aug. 28, at an annual salary of $26,326, to replace Pat Diemand, who resigned.
