How Did Parkland Schools Do On Their State Report Card?
Find out how your child's schools scored on Pennsylvania's new School Performance Profile.
If the Parkland School District was a kid, its parents would hang the results of its School Performance Profile on their refrigerator.
Each of the district's schools scored well above 70 the standard set by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to denote success on the profile.
The SPP measures academic progress through things like performance on the Keystone/PSSA exams and graduation and attendance rates, according to the state website.
"As a whole I think we have to be proud," district Superintendent Richard Sniscak said at Tuesday evening's school board meeting. "All our schools scored in the 80s and 90s. And we had some exemplary scores.”
Here's how the schools performed:
- Cetronia Elementary: 88.6
- Fogelsville Elementary: 92.4
- Fred Jaindl Elementary: 93.1
- Ironton School: 82
- Kernsville School: 81
- Kratzer School: 86.2
- Parkway Manor School: 88.3
- Schnecksville School: 83.9
- Orefield Middle School: 91.8
- Springhouse Middle School: 94.1
- Parkland High: 83.1
District officials have stressed that, despite Parkland's performance, the SPP is just one of many ways to gauge student performance.
