Fogelsville Elementary Dedicates New Fitness Track

It took two years-worth of fundraisers to build the new Fitness Track at Fogelsville Elementary School.

It normally doesn't take two years to go around a track, unless you are building it from scratch.

"With the support of Fogelsville students, their families and our amazing principal, , we spent two school years raising money to complete this project," said Cindy Cook, PTO Vice President for Fundraising at .

On Sept. 9, students, staff and PTO members officially opened the walking track. The track circles the school’s playground behind the school, and is meant to safely and more efficiently promote physical fitness.

The PTO even supplies awards to the students for putting miles on the track. Five times around the macadam track equals a mile.
