Budget Cuts on Parkland School Board Agenda
A proposed $1.5 million in spending cuts for the 2013-14 school year will be discussed by the school board at Tuesday night's meeting.
A cadre of proposed budget cuts for the 2013-14 school year that total more than $1.5 million will be discussed at Tuesday night's Parkland School Board meeting, according to a district spokesperson.
Last week, school administrators proposed the budget cuts to board members at two separate committee meetings.
Parkland Superintendent of Schools Richard Sniscak told board members in committee meetings that the administration is working to keep the 2013-14 tax hike to less than 3 percent.

The Parkland School Board approved a $145.7 million preliminary budget last month, which is the first step in the budget process.

Administrators will hold a budget seminar on Friday, April 26 in order to tackle further budget issues.
The school board meeting will take place at the administration building, located at 1210 Springhouse Road in Allentown. The workshop begins at 7 p.m. and the general meeting starts at 8 p.m.
