Breinigsville Student Wins $123,000 from Dr Pepper

George Hayward, a Penn State student and Parkland grad from Breinigsville, won a $123,000 in tuition in a Dr Pepper promotion.

George Haywood of Breinigsville won $123,000 in Dr Pepper's 2010 Giveaway Promotion & Contest. Haywood, a 2009 graduate of Parkland, is now a junior architectural student at Penn State.

Haywood told The Morning Call that he had expected to graduate from Penn State with more than $30,000 in loans, but will now graduate debt-free.

All entrants in the contest had to submit an original video and those chosen were entered in a football throwing contest. Haywood won that contest at last year's during half-time at the Big 12 Championship game in December.
