8 Hires Approved by Parkland School Board

The Parkland School Board accepted resignations, retirements and approved hires at Tuesday night's board meeting.

The Parkland School Board made the following personell moves at its Tuesday night meeting:

  • Carol A. Molotzak, administrative assistant at Parkland High School, is retiring after 27 years of service, effective November 4, 2013.
  • Gerald J. Lakics, head custodian at Kernsville Elementary School, is retiring after 10 years of service, effective June 30, 2013.
  • Beth Kane, part-time clerical assistant at Kratzer Elementary School, effective June 28, 2013.
  • Timarie E. Goodwin, part-time teaching assistant at Parkway Manor Elementary School, effective at the end of the 2012-2013 school year.
  • Jeannie Hain, playground aide at Fred J. Jaindl Elementary School, effective at the end of the 2012-2013 school year.
  • Denise M. Davis, crossing guard at Fred J. Jaindl Elementary School, effective at the end of the 2012-2013 school year.
  • Gloria J. Snyder, food service employee, is retiring after 11 years of service, effective at the end of the 2012-2013 school year.
  • Richard C. Fogelman, part-time custodian at Parkland High School, is retiring after 13 years of service, effective June 7, 2013.
  • Paul T. Hudak, full-day school bus driver, is retiring after 35 years of service, effective May 31, 2013.
  • Debra K. Tice, assistant girls volleyball coach at Parkland High School, effective June 7, 2013.
  • Susan M. Baranek, Conservation Club advisor at Parkland High School, effective June 11, 2013.
The following individuals are recommended for employment, pending receipt of required clearances:
  • Traci L. Falco, Schnecksville, PA, as a first grade teacher at Kernsville Elementary School, effective August 27, 2013, at an annual salary of $49,921.  Ms. Falco is recommended as a temporary professional employee to replace Angela Miller, who resigned.
  • Melissa A. Ricci, Bethlehem, PA, as a family and consumer science teacher at Orefield Middle School, effective August 27, 2013, at an annual salary of $58,787.  Ms. Ricci is recommended as a professional employee to replace Katherine Scheerer, who resigned.
  • Sarah B. Leibelsperger, Kutztown, PA, as a district speech and language pathologist, effective August 27, 2013, at an annual salary of $58,787.  Ms. Leibelsperger is recommended as a professional employee for a new position approved in the 2013-2014 budget.
  • Lee B. Moyer, Allentown, PA, as a sixth grade teacher at Springhouse Middle School, effective August 27, 2013, at an annual salary of $49,921.  Mr. Moyer is recommended as a substitute for a temporary vacancy to replace Samantha Edwards, who will be on a professional leave of absence.
  • Alexis L. Oplinger, Allentown, PA, as a fourth grade teacher at Fred J. Jaindl Elementary School, effective August 27, 2013, at an annual salary of $49,921.  Ms. Oplinger is recommended as a substitute for a temporary vacancy to replace Nicol Moyer, who will be on a childrearing leave of absence. 
  • Christopher J. Marx, Allentown, PA, as a sixth grade teacher at Springhouse Middle School, effective August 27, 2013, at an annual salary of $49,921, prorated.  Mr. Marx is recommended as a substitute for a temporary vacancy to replace Lindsay Tallarida, who will be on a childrearing leave of absence.
  • Kate A. Robbins, Easton, PA, as a math teacher at Parkland High School, effective August 27, 2013, at an annual salary of $49,921.  Ms. Robbins is recommended as a substitute for a temporary vacancy to replace Sharon Gombotz, who is on a leave of absence.
  • Rebecca Lewis, as a counselor for the 2013 Camp Discover program, at the board approved rate.
