Upper Macungie Looking to Buy New Fire Truck

Residents had expressed concerns about a new firetruck's ability to manage steep roads and driveways.

Upper Macungie supervisors will hold a special work session early next month to discuss the purchase of a new fire truck for the Fogelsville Volunteer Fire Company.

The matter came up at this month's regular supervisors meeting, where numerous residents expressed concerns about a new truck being able to climb some of the steep roads driveways in the northern part of the township.

Earlier this year, the township set up a replacement fund for fire trucks. If the township sells a truck, proceeds from the sale go into the fund.

The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. at the township building.
