Teens Can Sign Up for Police/Firefighters Academy
Berks-Lehigh Regional Police and Upper Macungie firefighters are running an academy Aug. 6-10 for teens interested in police work and firefighting.

The Berks-Lehigh Regional Police and Upper Macungie Bureau of Fire are holding a Junior Emergency Services Academy Aug. 6-10. The program runs 9 a.m. -3 p.m. each day at Upper Macungie Station 56 at 6510 Schantz Road. It is open to boys and girls ages 12-16 who live within the areas covered by the Upper Macungie fire companies or Berks-Lehigh Regional Police.
The academy will offer two days of police related courses and two days of firefighter related courses, including training in CPR. The final day, participants will do the police and fire challenge course.

The class size is limited to 30 Junior Cadets and lunch will be provided each day. To sign up, go to www.blrpd.org and click on downloads and then click on Jr. Emergency Services Academy Application. Registration ends July 11.
The academy is sponsored by Berks-Lehigh Regional Police and the fire departments of Upper Macungie, including , Station 25 Trexlertown and Station 56.
