Parking Areas Planned At Nestle Project

Representatives from Nestle appeared before the Upper Macungie Planning Commission Wednesday proposing parking areas as part of a project in the Lehigh Valley West Industrial Park.

Representatives from Nestle appeared before the Upper Macungie Planning Commission Wednesday proposing a paved parking van area and a paved car area as part of a project in the Lehigh Valley West Industrial Park.

The project is at 155 Nestle Way in Breinigsville. The company proposes 6,150 square feet of paved van parking area and a paved parking car area of 14,420 square feet in front of the building.

The company's submission also proposes to add steps, sidewalks and 39 spaces for cars, while eliminating 10 existing spaces in the south end of the facility.

Eleven new parking spaces are proposed for the northeast side of the facility.

The commission noted that Nestle should provide parking signage separating truck and passenger vehicles.

In addition, the commission recommends that the proposed fire truck turning movement in the parking lot is too small and needs to be addressed with the fire commissioner.
