Take-Back Used/Outdated Medication Collection

Upper Macungie residents can dispose of outdated and unwanted prescription medication safely as part of the third annual national Take-Back Day project.

Medications can be dropped off from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the .

Police will collect prescription and over-the-counter medications including liquid products and creams in containers. Syringes will not be accepted.

Officials say keeping outdated/unwanted medicines at home poses a danger to children, teens and older adults.

In 2010, police in Lehigh County collected almost 193 pounds of pills and capsules. The far surpassed that amount with almost 1,008 pounds of medications turned in by the public.
