Edward Earley, the current chairman of the Upper Macungie Board of Supervisors, says he'll likely seek another six-year term.

Editor's note: Edward Earley's years of service on the Upper Macungie Board of Supervisors was incorrect in an earlier version of this article. This is the corrected version.

Upper Macungie Board of Supervisors Chairman Edward Earley said this week that he'll likely seek another six-year term on the board.

Earley said he was first appointed as an Upper Macungie Township Supervisor in 2002 to fill a vacancy. He was elected to a four-year term in 2004, and in 2008, he was re-elected to a six-year term.

"I enjoy it," he said. "We'll see if we can give it another shot."

Earley is an Upper Macungie resident and a retired Kutztown University professor.

Earley also chaired the Berks-Lehigh Regional Police Commission.

Clarification: I was appointed as a UMT Supervisor in 2002 to fulfill a vacancy. In 2004 I was elected to a four-year term and in 2008 I was re-elected to a six-year term. Ed

And destroyed the lively hood of some good officers in 2012, who had a contract until December 2013. Nice.
