Route 100 Lehigh Hills Project Scaled Down

Lehigh Hills Route 100 Development, LP now proposes 22 low-rise apartments at Route 100 and Glenlivet Drive, instead of up to 98 townhomes.

A Bethlehem developer once again revamped plans for housing units slated for construction at Route 100 and Glenlivet Drive in Fogelsville.

Lehigh Hills Route 100 Development, LP presented a plan featuring 22 low-rise apartments at the nearly 15-acre site to the Upper Macungie Planning Commission Wednesday night.

The previously approved plan, according to Jason Englehardt of Langan Engineering in Bethlehem, proposed construction of 98 townhouse units.

A revised plan was subsequently submitted for 22 low-rise apartment units and 87 townhomes on a mixed-use lot. However, township zoning issues required another revision of that plan.

The site is in a medium-high density residential zoning district. The development would be a permitted use in this area.

The commission will reconsider the plan and discuss it publicly at a future meeting.
