Charlie Dent No Longer Listed as "Vulnerable"

Four-term Republican U.S. Rep. Charlie Dent looks likely to keep his 15th District seat come Nov. 6.

Incumbent Republican Congressman Charlie Dent is no longer listed as vulnerable by PoliticsPa in his re-election race against Democrat Rick Daugherty.

The statewide politics website this week shifted Dent's rating from what had been "minimally vulnerable."

Dent, who is running for his fifth term, saw the 15th legislative district he serves change under a new political map.

For the last 10 years, the district consisted of all of Northampton County, most of Lehigh County and small parts of Berks and Montgomery Counties. Under a new map, the district extends across five counties from Northampton County to Dauphin County. In a controversial move, the map splits up the Lehigh Valley, putting Easton and part of the Bethlehem Area School District in the 17th congressional district.

Redistricting initially looked like it would make Dent vulnerable to defeat but political experts now say it looks like the incumbent is safe.

Really? You blame Mr. Dent for something some idiot said? That's fair.

I would be upset if Dent said it, but why hold him accountable for what someone else says. Why do people always refer to republican cronies? Can we at least agree that BOTH sides have their cronies and both sides have people who don't represent their party well? Are you equally offended when our president belittles the office he holds when he calls Romney a "bullshitter"? That is an actual quote!

THANK you Jill. Cheers!

Mr. Dent was there with Mr. Portly, and didn't disagree or rebuff Mr. Portly's statement, so yes, I do hold him responsible. I'll stand by my Republican ill will, but I'll add that I don't like or trust most politicians, including President Obama. You'd think with a country as great as the USA, we could find better people to run it.

I don't know any politician who is going to engage in a debate in a line to the polls. I am sorry to say that you sound foolish. It also sounds as if you have a slight chip on your shoulder.
