Woman Victim of Credit Card Fraud, Police Say

Upper Macungie Police say an Allentown woman's Target credit card was used to make fraudulent purchases at Best Buy.

Upper Macungie Police are investigating a credit card fraud case involving an Allentown woman.

Police say the woman reported to police that her Target credit card was recently used to make fraudulent purchases at Best Buy.

Police did not release the dollar figure charged to the woman's Target card.

The reports of identity theft or access device fraud have been on the rise recently, but generally have been limited to several hundred dollars or a couple of thousand, thanks largely to the monitoring safeguards used by credit card companies.
