Woman Took Car and Stereo Equipment, Police Say

Upper Macungie Police say 33-year-old Nicole Emery of Mertztown faces multiple charges for allegedly taking car stereo equipment and an automobile from a Breinigsville home.

Upper Macungie Police said a 33-year-old Mertztown, Berks County woman is in Lehigh County Prison, facing multiple charges after allegedly stealing car stereo equipment and stealing a car.

Police said Nicole Emery allegedly took the car stereo equipment from a home in the 7200 block of Hamilton Blvd. in Breinigsville and then proceeded to drive away in the victim's Chrysler 300 sedan on Sept. 1.

Police said a subsequent investigation determined that Emery took the stereo equipment and the car.

Police said Emery was charged Thursday night at Lehigh County Central Booking with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, unauthorized use of a vehicle and a summary traffic violation of driving with a suspended license.

Online court records show Emery was arraigned by District Judge Wayne Maura and committed to Lehigh County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 26 at 1:30 p.m.
