Who's Stealing Catalytic Converters in Upper Macungie?

Upper Macungie police say 14 catalytic converters stolen from vehicles at two businesses.

Twice in the last week, someone's gone to the parking lot of an Upper Macungie business and stolen the catalytic converters out of multiple vehicles.

Township police say it happened at Communication Systems Inc. on Schantz Road sometime between noon on New Year's Eve and 7 a.m. Thursday morning.

Employees discovered the theft, telling police someone had taken the converters out of 10 company vehicles.

A similar theft happened at Hanaberry HVAC, also on Schantz Road, sometime between Dec. 26 and Thursday morning at 5:30. In this case, someone had stolen the converters from four company vehicles while the business was closed.
