Upper Macungie's New Police Officers to be Sworn in Today

Two swearing-in ceremonies will be held today for Upper Macungie's new police officers.

 

Upper Macungie's new police officers will be sworn into service today by District Judge Michael Faulkner, three days before the new department takes over from the Berks-Lehigh Regional Police Department.

The ceremonies will be held at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., at the township municipal building. A promotion ceremony also will be held after the 4 p.m. swearing-in event.

The public is invited.

Many of the new officers in the 28-member force served with Berks-Lehigh Regional police, which will continue to provide police coverage to the township until Monday evening. Township supervisors set salaries last week.
