It sounds like the perpetrators knew exactly what they were looking for, as if they were in the house before or knew someone who was. This is why I trust no one. Every delivery and repair person is looked at with suspicion.

And the "gubmint" wants to take away our guns... This is the very reason why we should exercise our 2nd amendment rights. I will be praying for the family of the victims of this horrible tragedy.

Proud gun owner.

i've never heard anyone ever say anything about taking away your guns. no one is trying to breach the 2nd amendment. you people make things up. you prey on others and try to sway people's opinions by inciting fear and looking at others "with suspicion." get over it. start a credible dialogue about gun rights. the constitution is a living document. that's why amendments were added in the first place: to meet the needs of an evolving society. keep the lunacy out of the dialogue. focus on the victims of guns rather than the perception that your rights are being infringed upon.

OK...here's substance for you: After MUCH media coverage over the recent gun-related tragedys, you'll hear nothing said in the media about how this could have been avoided had the homeowner(s) been armed, or how this DID happen because they weren't. NOTHING will be said! Proper change in the wake of this violence is to put in place regulations that track exactly how many weapons one has acquired and how much ammunition for them one has amassed. Don't take away one's right to acquire a firearm - if they are legally/psychologically qualified to do so - that avoids the 2nd Amendment right infringement argument. "Home Defense" - that the primary fall back of gun owners as to why they possess firearms, but some claim this when buying their 5th or 6th weapon. Really? Exactly which weapon will be used to defend the home, all 6? The Auroro, CO theater shooter had amassed over 6,400 rounds of ammunition, body armor, a handgun, shotgun and an assault rifle with double drum magazine adapter for high capacity. Though I support gun rights, I think some regulations in place to keep track of that arsenal as it is being amassed would have prevented that tragedy.

For the first time, I've heard a voice of reason. It is not 1756. It is 2013, and in the US we are killing people at a record rate, compared to other countries. More gardening, less violence.

"GUBMINT"????? Nothing but voices of BIGOTRY!!! Shame on YOU!!!! YOU are what is WRONG with America!!!
J Mauro January 19, 2013 at 12:17 PM
Proud gun owner. You are all too much. Besides the clearly rascist comment "gubmint"which is the most ignorent comment I have read in a comment section, now the home invaders took the victims weapons. So the home invaders can now arm thyself- that worked out well didn't it.
Tom Schilling January 19, 2013 at 02:09 PM
hey responsible citizen, they were calling it gubmint for a long time before we had a half black president. you are the one who is racist for associating that word with Obama.
Karen Sechler January 19, 2013 at 03:08 PM
This is not about gun control..this is about people who have no respect for life. Guns do not kill..people do.. whatever happened to the difference between right and wrong? pEople have lost touch with the basic values of life..
Mac January 19, 2013 at 04:40 PM
J Mauro, are you serious??? Yes, I'm sure these muderous thieves tried the legal route to gun ownership but were denied. You can buy heroin, an un unregistered gun and sex in east Allentown. Get a clue.

C. S. or Pepper Spray may have disabled the intruders. As often happens., how do we know the shooting(s) didn't come from intruders getting gun of the homeownr ? Work on "Stun guns." Safer for victims & assailants. Remember, shooting an intruder who was unarmed is NOT legal, despite all the macho talk. There's more to it than that. "Lincoln pickup truck belonging to one of the victims of the incident." Lincoln makes pick-up trucks ???
Janet Persing January 20, 2013 at 01:22 AM
Karen, I agree with you. The ghetto "culture" is drugs, death, destruction, and violence. Want to perhaps live to 18? Perhaps 21 as an old man. Forget the females who are nothing more than fodder for the pimps.

Really? "Gun registration is not enough. Waiting periods are only a step. Registration is only a step. The prohibition of private firearms is the goal." —Janet Reno, Associated Press 12/10/93 D. Feinstein: "If I could've gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an outright ban, picking up every one of them -- Mr. and Mrs. America turn 'em all in -- I would have done it. I could not do that. The votes weren't here." Austin TX Democrat Mike Martinez to a man carrying a sign at a rally reading "Stop The Gun Ban". "Someone needs to inform him that there is no gun ban currently, but because of the work we’re doing here today, we will make your sign legitimate shortly, so you hang on to that.” You think these are the only ones? Why is DHS taking bids for 7k automatic AR15 type weapons they term "personal defense weapons" but the government wants to ban semi-auto versions because they are "assault weapons"? There will be no more free Wacos and no more free Katrinas. For we are the Three Percent. We will not disarm. You cannot convince us. You cannot intimidate us. You can try to kill us, if you think you can. But remember, we’ll shoot back . We are not going away. We are not backing up another inch. And there are THREE MILLION OF US. Your move, Mr. Wannabe Tyrant.
